Coordinate with VTC leadership on hiring needs, build job descriptions for positions, and post notices on jobs boards throughout the community.
Nurture connections with local educational institutions to facilitate communication of available positions to students.
Arrange secondary interviews with VTC executives of strong candidates identified by department Directors.
Build and implement a new hire onboarding process, including orientation and briefing on timeline for benefits eligibility, organizational structure, culture, and safety protocols.
Facilitate timely benefit enrollments with appropriate external representatives.
Ensure necessary information is communicated with the VTC financial team.
Provide consistent organization-wide notices welcoming new hires, informing the team on staffing departures, and tracking any organizational realignments.
Provide input on safety protocols and emergency communications procedures.
Ensure safety concerns with residents, alumni, or others are communicated rapidly and consistently to staff, with emphasis on those team members most likely to interact with these individuals.
Collect input from VTC staff on how best to address concerns that may arise.
Act as the organization's liaison to an external HR consultant.
Dedicate time to speak with any staff members who express challenges with their assigned duties, workplace interactions, or other matters.
Thoroughly document these conversations and confirm with staff their preferences on confidentiality.
Work with the Director to track trends and develop solutions.
Propose employee retention strategies and related cost estimates to the Director, including staff enrichment activities and informal gatherings.
Maintain a calendar of birthdays, work anniversaries, and holidays; implement recognition and celebration activities for the VTC team.
Develop a schedule and template for routine employee performance reviews, and monitor progress for all staff.
Conduct exit interviews upon the departure of staff members from the VTC.
Update VTC organizational chart to reflect staffing changes and shifts in responsibility.
Manage an organization-wide shared calendar; serve as a scheduling coordinator for the executive team.
Coordinate the use of conference room spaces by the VTC Board of Directors, resident/Veteran groups, and external organizations.
Build and implement a request form for use of VTC spaces.
Provide support for on-site meetings, including technology set-up and troubleshooting.
Update and prepare packets and materials for the VTC Board of Directors.
Other duties may be delegated to this position as directed by management staff.
Individuals with Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Certified Professional Certification or comparable HR certifications will be given preference in the hiring process.
Ideal candidate will possess:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Solid time management capabilities and attention to detail Strong grasp of methods to maintain confidential documentation Knowledge of strategies for nurturing a healthy working environment Comfort and experience working in emotionally charged situations and with individuals in distress Emphasis on confidentiality, impartiality, and diplomacy This is a full-time, at-will position.
Base annual salary is $70,000; higher compensation may be available for candidates with advanced qualifications, experience, skill set, and other individual factors.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
