The Nurse Director of Operating Room Surgical Services will work in a technologically savvy and advanced medical center that has been serving surrounding community for over 70 years.
The Operating Room Perioperative Services Nurse Director will be part of a hospital with comprehensive surgical services that received national recognition for performance, quality and teamwork.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer COO, the Nurse Director of Operating Room Perioperative Services will manage a busy and fast paced department with 12 Operating Room suites while supported by Nurse Manager of Operating Room, Nurse Manager of PACU, Manager of Central Sterile Processing, Charge Nurses and 95 highly skilled and tenured staff members.
The Operating Room department sees almost 6,000 cases per year with complex cases being performed.
The reputable medical center is one of the few hospitals to offer the daVinci Surgical System and robotic surgery.
The system provides surgeons with an alternative to both traditional open surgery and conventional laparoscopy, putting a surgeon's hands at the controls of a state-of-the-art robotic platform.
The Nurse Director of Operating Room Perioperative Services will have the privilege of working with the cutting-edge technology of the CyberKnife as part of its new Center for Advanced Radiotherapy and CyberKnife Radiosurgery.
The CyberKnife is a radiation therapy device that is able to pinpoint solid tumors anywhere in the body with sub-millimeter accuracy using image-guidance technology.
The Nurse Director of Operating Room Surgical Services will have twenty four hour responsibility and accountability for the safe and efficient operations of all aspects of the Perioperative Services including the Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Ambulatory and endoscopy departments.
The Nurse Director of Surgery Operating Room will be responsible for space planning, hiring, supervising and development of all levels of staff including assuring competence.
The Surgical Services Operating Room Nurse Director will be responsible for development and adherence to departmental standards utilizing AORN and other professional organizations' as guidance for evidence based practice.
